Under Construction
Scholars eager to move into higher education positions may want intensive exposure to multiple academic career topics. For this reason, Academii offers several multi-session “career crash courses” at different times throughout the year. These are designed for self-starters who want a just-the-facts approach, so they can get started quickly on a job search. Each course has a different emphasis designed to equip scholars for various aspects of academic careers and, in particular, landing teaching jobs.
All of our courses feature:
- Month-Long Online Courses: Start and finish in a month
- Four Sessions in Each Course: 75-90 minute sessions
- Weekly Sessions: Course sessions occur one time per week
- Live Interaction: Weekly Q & A with the Academii Dean
- Materials Provided: Access to Academii course content provided

Course Overviews
Following are overviews of each of our six Academii Career Courses. Individual weekly class sessions of each course are listed in sequential order, top to bottom (weeks 1, 2, 3, 4). Since courses are four-week sessions, they are offered at the beginning of the month they are scheduled. See the images and descriptions below for an overview of our courses. For an abbreviated sketch of the courses, view this at-a-glance overview.
Academii Delta
Delta is a great starting point in your career preparation. It provides weekly sessions on the core essentials of the academic job search process. The series begins with a challenge to drill down on identifying and declaring your career calling. This involves clarifying and committing to it once you have that nailed down. Sessions 2 and 3 will help you learn the importance of creating excellent documents that are essential in the academic position search, most notably your curriculum vitae (extended academic resume), your cover letters, your recommendations and your references. A slightly different strategy than most use will be presented in this course, as Academii feels good scholars often miss opportunities to shine in some of these areas. These freshman mistakes result in losing valuable advantages in the academic search. Session 4 will provide greater insight into the area of institutional types that exist, a mostly-neglected topic in the job search discussion. These will be identified, and you will receive direction on finding your best possible career options in the session entitled “Finding Your Institutional Fit.”
